Broxzier Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 There has been an attack on TeamViewer, giving the attackers session information. They can use this to connect to your computers. There have been reports of the attackers using it to steal money from PayPal, making purchases on eBay, and many more. To prevent this from happening on your computer, disable TeamViewer for now.
HookerHeels Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Don't have TV on my laptop anymore, but good to know!
Broxzier Posted June 7, 2016 Author Posted June 7, 2016 (edited) Apparently this has not been an issue with TeamViewer, but with LinkedIn or MySpace. To quote @Gymnasiast from the Gitter chat: Quote Regarding TeamViewer: it turns out the afffected people had set a password to allow remote control that was the same as their LinkedIn or MySpace password. Those were breached, TeamViewer was not. I didn't read everything thoroughly, and this statement has been proven wrong. It seems to still be a fishy situation. Edited June 7, 2016 by Broxzier
