AtumRa Posted Wednesday at 14:25 Posted Wednesday at 14:25 Hello everyone! First of all, I want to praise this wonderful project, the developers and also the translators. I'm happy to finally be able to play RCT 1 and 2 in widescreen in an optimized way and correctly translated into my language (Brazilian Portuguese). With that, I would like to make a suggestion. I notice, and I'm happy about, the fact that OpenRCT2 is compatible with RCT Classic as well, in addition to the traditional RCTs. I think that, since Atari has already abandoned RCT Classic, I'm happy to be able to play it in the best possible way, which is through OpenRCT2. I own all the games on GOG, RCT 1, 2 and Classic. My suggestion would be the following: Since RCT Classic has the assets, parks and music from RCT 1, could you, developers, consider the possibility of coding OpenRCT2 to recognize this and allow me to select the RCT 1 music to be my menu music (when I open OpenRCT2), and also to be the title sequence (parks that appear in the background when I open OpenRCT2), without me having to point to the RCT 1 installation directory in the options menu? Because this causes duplicate parks in the parks menu. I know this is just a matter of aesthetics and does not interfere in any way with the gameplay itself. And I also know that the parks have slightly different settings from RCT 1 to Classic. But I would just like to have this possibility of not having to point to, or even install, RCT 1, since Classic already has the parks and music from RCT 1. What do you think of my suggestion? I would like to thank you once again for all your effort and the time you dedicated to this project!
Gymnasiast Posted Wednesday at 20:04 Posted Wednesday at 20:04 RCT Classic does not contain all the assets from RCT1, it lacks some vehicles, land types, path types and a few other things. It also doesn’t contain all the scenarios. On top of that, the RCT1 scenarios it contains have numerous modifications. I would recommend you link OpenRCT2 to RCT2 and RCT1 for the best results, and then copy Tycoon Park.sea to the scenarios folder to get the fullest experience possible. The music issue you mention is logged here: https://github.com/OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2/issues/17944 As for the title sequences: as far as I know, this should work already if you just have RCT Classic installed. Does it not work for you?

Does it not work for you? Oh! I see, I will do what you just said so I may have the fullest experience possible. Thanks for the info! As for your last question, no. And I tried multiple installation options. Like, I installed only RCT Classic and OpenRCT2 (with a fresh install) and no, the only option for the title sequence is OpenRCT2. I mean, the other options appear, but if I try clicking on them it just not works, it immediately resets back to OpenRCT2 title sequence. So I tried installing RCT 1 and linking its folder, then it works! But, well, I get a lot of duplicated scenarios. I tried deleting files and files from RCT 1 folder to see until when I may delete until the title screen thing stops working... But I noticed they are linked to the scenarios itself, so if I delete the scenarios from the RCT 1 folder, in order to remove the duplicates, the title sequence changes with fewer scenarios, because well, I deleted them. But I thought it should still works even if I have only RCT Classic installed and linked to OpenRCT2, so maybe it's a current bug? So yeah, for some reason the title sequence is defaulting to OpenRCT2 title sequence if you only install RCT Classic. I can confirm that. Edited Wednesday at 20:37 by AtumRa
