Game freezing through PlayonMac, requires restart

Started playing OpenRCT a few days ago -- game bought through GOG and then played through PlayonMac. 

Three times now in the middle of playing (seemingly randomly) the game becomes unresponsive. I can still move the cursor within the game, but I cannot click anything and all the game animation is frozen.

The significant issue this creates is that I'm unable to exit out of the window. The mouse cursor won't travel outside of the game window and nothing on the keyboard seems to respond as far as OS shortcuts (i.e. - I can't command+tab to another window). So I end up 'trapped' in the game and have to hold down the power button to restart the whole system.

This is a brand new Mac. No other issues whatsoever.

Don't play OpenRCT2 through Wine. It even warns you not to do that. Just use the native version.
