OpenRCT2 will not find the files for RCT2

I downloaded RCT2 from gog and it works perfectly fine without Open.  Whenever i open OpenRCT2, it pops up with a message, "Open Rct2 requires the original game to operate. Please select the directory where the game is located. I do so, then it claims not to have found the game there. Help?

The folder you need to select is the folder that (directly) contains the .exe file, and has data, scenario and objdata subfolders. Suppose you select folder RCT2, then RCT2\data\g1.dat should exist (do not select the data folder directly).
