TwisterII Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Hi, I am having some issues trying to stream RCT2 to Twitch. I have OBS, but it is not detecting OpenRCT! Has anyone had success with this? Thanks!
RuneLaenen Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 You can record your full screen and maximize the game window I think? Or do you really want to only record your game?
TwisterII Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 I want to be able to do a "Game Capture" so I can have my webcam and be able to see Twitch Chat in the same window. Does that make sense?
RuneLaenen Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Yeah of course it makes sense :pUntil the game is recognized by OBS, you can use this thread to help yourself out: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/trying-to-capture-a-specific-section-of-my-screen.1653/
Krutonium Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 OBS Won't detect ORCT2 using game capture because it isn't using the standard drawing techniques - OpenGL or DirectX - Instead it Is currently using its own Drawing Code, based on SDL, which OBS doesn't detect as a game. Use "Window Capture" mode in OBS to stream it.
IntelOrca Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 This also an issue for those that want to use Steam Overlay. We will eventually add the option to re-feed the software rendered graphics via OpenGL or DirectX and maybe later even render the graphics completely on the GPU.
TwisterII Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 Thanks for all the comments. I tried the window capture, and OBS is detecting OpenRCT! However, it's just a black screen. http://i.imgur.com/qMxOMr0.jpg
Krutonium Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Interesting... In the morning I will take a look at how I set it up for me, and post a tut.
Krutonium Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Sorry, I still haven't had a chance to look - I'll do my best to check tonight!
TwisterII Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 Which would be great! On the subreddit for RCT2 I remember a lot of people prefer watching a stream over a YouTube video - it would be a great way to build the community and get the word out about OpenRCT!
TwisterII Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 So I had to click "Compatibility Mode" on the Window Capture and it started working. Before, I would click that and OBS would just capture that instant of OpenRCT2, now it's working as a stream!
