Unable to use steamoverlay

Hi,

I can run OpenRCT2 with no issue but there's no steam overlay. When I try running the game through Steam it doesn't launch. What should I do?

Add openRCT2 to the steam list

Click 'Add non steam game' in the bottom left corner of your library  Then find the openRCT2 Exe, not the launcher but the game itself. then launch the game from steam and the steam UI should work.

a simple solution (Since I have RCT2 Steam Version) was to rename OpenRCT2.exe to RCT2.EXE then steam will launch it like the original exe.

I went one step further, I left OpenRCT2.exe alone and created a hard link using Windows mklink command to point to RCT2.EXE so steam will run RCT2.EXE and it actually runs OpenRCT2.exe
