Crashing when friend joins server

Hi  when my friend joins the server as soon as it says he join I get a message saying open rct2.exe has stopped working and close the program. my friend has nortin anti virus idk if that could affect it pls help it would be very appricitated. We are running the stable build 0.0.3

For the multiplayer stuff, the developer builds (0.0.4 at the moment) are usually more stable than the stable build.

What systems are you both running? Have you both installed the original RCT2 game? (either via CD, Gog, Steam or something entirely else) How are you running OpenRCT2? Have you downloaded it from a zip file, are you using a launcher, ...?
