Need help downloading the new 3.3 version on Linux

Hi there! I'm hoping someone out there would be able to help.

I am wanting to connect to the servers to play more unique content, but the game is telling me I need to update to the 3.3 version. I have downloaded the file from here but I am having trouble getting the new content into the game. What am I missing?
