Could you upload that file, so we can test why it crashes?
You can download it here: http://www.nedesigns.com/rct2-object/5130/scgletrs/

The --verbose worked, lucky for me because I have more than 5000 objects. It appeared that SCGLETRS.dat was the file causing the problem. Thanks for all the help!

I re-installed RCT2, and then OpenRCT2 worked fine... Hurray!...
Untill I copied all my custom objects back in to my objData folder. OpenRCT2 won't work anymore. Now there's a line in the prompt saying "4773 object added... updating object cache list" and shortly after that it crashes.

You cannot expect help if you don't provide vital information, like your OS version, or where you downloaded your zip files (openrct.net or openrct2.com). Or whether you have RCT2 installed.
Of course I have RCT2 installed. I use windows 8.1 and I downloaded files from here.

Anyone?

I tried several times to get openRCT to work. It failed every time... I tried the launcher, the zip files, changing windows compatibility mode, running as admin,.. Don't know what to do anymore! Every time this prompt appears, shortly followed by a message from Windows that openRCT doesn't work anymore.
A few ideas to forget the Vanilla completely...

OpenRCT2 is great! But there are a few things that I'd like to suggest...
- Zero clearancing water & land without destroying objects/path/rides etc that has already been built. I know the zero clearance function now allows you to build under water, but for some things it's more handful to build something before and then raise the water. Same thing with the land, sometimes you just have to lower or raise land near or under build scenery and it isn't handful when the build scenery is gone.
- Chain lift hill function. With 8cars you can paint any piece of track and make it function like a chain lift. This allows you to make Skycoasters, Eurofighters and so much more. It would be handful if OpenRCT2 could do the trick as well, so we don't need to go to the vanilla version anymore.
