Openrct2 launcher doesn`t work.

So this is my third attempt at this cause the first two didn`t work. So i`ll get straight to the point, when i start openrct2 launcher it says that i have to pick the directory that i installed Rct2(I have the steam version), but when ever i pick the directory i installed Rct2 the launcher closes and does nothing, then i was like what is even going on so i decided to take a screenshot of the launcher box that says the stuff

Select the Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 folder, you now have selected the Steam folder, which is of course one level too high.

That doesn't work. I'm having the same problem. The Steam folder does not contain RCT 2 even though I purchased it on Steam.

to clarify, in this dialog you would click the text "Rollercoaster Tycoon 2" instead of the arrow next to it.

Did you also actually install it? Check in Steam where the game is installed.

Yes, that should work.
