  1. I've got a build challenge for you guys. Partially, because I can't seem to top my own entry. And I wanna know how to improve my own entry.

Create a wooden rollercoaster with the following prerequisits:

    1. An E-rating of at least 10
    2. Of course, an I-rating of less than 10
    3. An ride time of no more than 2m10
    4. At least 12 drops
    5. 2 interlocking loops
    6. At least 10s of air time
    7. And finally: A design smaller than 31x18.
    8. (Optional) When running a block-sectioned circuit: The block brakes should be blocking trains as short as possible or not.

This is my entry: Mischief. My entry fails to meet bulletpoint 3 and 8: It's too long. The brakes leading up to the station are placed a bit earlier than intended, to bring the avg speed down and subsequently bring down the I-rating to below 10. Also: The block brakes are blocking trains too long in my opinion.

Mischief is of course a reference to the pre-built Mischief Wooden Rollercoaster from RCT1.  This is of course not intended to be a recreation of the RCT1 coaster.

    So,

Let's see your entry's. And/or let's hear your tips on how to improve my Mischief.

  2. I can safely say that using a develop build fixes the issue. Though only partially:

    On OpenRCT2 0.3.5.1 (build ee62962) I tried building a Mine Train Coaster.

Basically, I made my own take on the SF Belgium coaster Calamity Mine. As you can see, saving the scenery is working again! Yay! 1504033055_SixFlags2021-12-2119-04-48.thumb.png.1497aa71878e4d43a7dbd41cbf715771.png

Sadly, it still says that the track takes up 1x1 tiles of space.

    But hey, it's an improvement!

So I'd say to everyone who has this track save issue: use an development build like (build ee62962)

  3. This here, is pretty much the best coaster I've ever made!

Nemesis 2: A Steel Twister Coaster running 3 Floorless Trains w/ 11 cars per train.  The original Nemesis (@21x14 also a very compact Steel Twister running 3x11 Floorless Trains) was deleted, after a screwup I made whilst saving a Log Flume.

This coaster is insanely compact @ 16x19! Sure, that's without scenery. But still: for a coaster running 2m9, this is COMPACT! And yes: That's a station AND a barrel roll through a loop. I love building that.

All ratings all at the top right corner (in Dutch).

    But this coaster isn't 'perfect':

    1. The trains come in hot to the brake run towards the station (from 107 kmh @ 0m, via a banked curve to 7.5m, to a 4 block brake run (all set @ 28kmh). It's a bit too rough, I think. Yet I needed that to maintain the very compact design.

    2. The middle brake run (the one @ 37.5m) could be better. A train there will be blocked a bit too long in my opinion, before resuming. Also: setting the chainspeed @11kmh and adding an extra brake (@ 14kmh) didn't do the trick.

All in all, this is the best coaster i've ever made. And it's also my favorite.

Feel free to add your thoughts on my coaster, especially if you've got idea's on how to adress the issues mentioned above the 2nd screenshot.

While trying to place a prebuilt ride, this message appears. If you did not try to place it outside your park, this message refers to "Too high for supports". Refer to ticket 15151 for more information.

    Running OpenRCT2 0.3.4.1 (build 5087e77) on Windows 10 (x86-64)

According to the Git-ticket this happens when trying to place a track design on very high land, and trying to place a track design on it that would be higher than the maximum height.

I'm experiencing this issue also, when building on mostly flat land, eg: the large water area in Six Flags Belgium (save file in attachment):

I'm building a River Rapids ride (link in attatchment) in this area, which is indeed higher than the maximum height limit, and I get the same message (in Dutch)

  5. Hello everyone. A long time RCT2 player here. I recently discovered OpenRCT and man, it really enhances the game!

I've come accross this strange bug, after building this Kingda Ka-esque coaster (see attachments):

    1794607855_SixFlagsMagicMountain2021-03-2916-04-00.thumb.png.a4ab4620aa6233321b9e25565e5bc133.png

After setting the chainhill speed to 146km/h (or 91mph), I've noticed that the reliability of the coaster will quickly drop.

After just 5 min. it dropped from 100% to 69%!1350544802_SixFlagsMagicMountain2021-03-2916-12-47.thumb.png.8bce4ed1b0706dbabb4ff8b88b1705eb.png

    How is this possible?
