If you cannot find that button, you're on an old build or you use release. Please upgrade to the latest develop version.

I have the latest release of OpenRCT2 installed on my mac (0.2.1 build 8d9fcb7) but I still can not find the "open custom object folder"-button. Can you or someone else explain me where I can find this button? That would be great too!

  2. Hello Forum,

I have an idea for OpenRCT2: What do you think of a ghost train that appears and rides your track when you are building a ride and that does not derail at the end of your track but just disappears? Like in RCT3?

Custom objects should be placed in your OpenRCT2/object folder. If you don't know where that is located, I believe there is now an "open custom object folder" button in game, but I can't remember where that option is (I'm currently running a modified version of the game that doesn't have it; I'll have to check later).

I believe I can not find the OpenRCT2/object folder. I pasted a custom object (.DAT file) in this folder: RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 Triple Thrill Pack -> ObjData - but I can not find the object in the object selection in RCT2Open so I searched for the "open custom object folder"-button but I also can not find this button. Can you or someone else tell me where I can find the "open custom objects folder"-button or explain me what I need to do when I want to import a custom object with the OpenRCT2/object folder? That would be great!

  4. Hello Forum,

I have two questions about custom objects in RCT2Open with macOS:

    1. How can you import custom objects in RCT2Open with macOS?

    2. Can you use custom objects in your project wich you have created before you have added the custom objects to your (custom) objects list with macOS?

    Thanks for help!

Select "disable clearance checks" from the cheat menu.

I don't have the option "disable clearance checks" in my cheat menu (that menu with this shovel: BpROwp.png, right?).

My cheat menu has these four options (I have the Dutch RCT2Open installed and translated those options to english. I'm not the best at english so the translations can be a bit different):

    - Cheats

    - Enable sandbox mode

    - Disable height controls

    - Disable support limits

Can you or someone els explain why I don't see "disable clearance checks" in my cheat menu and how I can make RCT2Open to let it show?

    Thanks for help!

  6. Alright, I have a picture so you can see what I mean:

    ACXS8f.png

How can you make the train rails like that? When I try to make this RCT2Open says: 'Can not build here. Train is in the way.'

    Thanks for help

  7. Hello Forum,

I have seen in a Youtube video that there is a trainer for RCT2Open. Can anyone say me where I can download a trainer for RCT2Open? I am looking for a trainer that can do things like "zero all clearences", the things what 8-cars can do.

    Thanks

    Hello forum,

Does anyone know where the prinstscreens of RCT2Open on a mac can be found? I have looked in the "Finder" but I can not find my printscreens.

    Thanks for help!

This topic can be closed. I found the map with the screenshots with Disk Inventory X. It is placed here: Users -> (username) -> Library -> Application Data -> OpenRCT2 Data -> Screenshot

Because it might be embedded in the bundle. Programs on the Mac look like a file, but are secretly folders.

Anyway, can you right-click the RCT2TTP icon on your desktop and tell me if it lists 'Toon pakketinhoud' ('Show package contents')? If so, click that option. A Finder window should appear. The RCT2 files should be somewhere in the folder structure. If you have a folder called 'RollerCoaster Tycoon 2' with 'ObjData' as a subfolder, you have the right one. Copy that "RollerCoaster Tycoon 2" folder to Downloads or some other easy-to-find folder.

    Hello Gymnasiast,

I have right clicked on the RC2TTP icon and then clicked on "Toon Pakketinhoud". Then, this Finder window appeard:

I have searched "Rollercoaster Tycoon 2" and "ObjData" in this Finder window but there is nothing to be found:

So, I can not find the "RollerCoaster Tycoon 2" folder. Can anyone help me to find the "RollerCoaster Tycoon 2" folder?

    Thanks for help

You're using the Windows version of OpenRCT2 on your Mac. You should use the Mac version.

I have downloaded the Mac version of OpenRCT2 and launched it. It says this when I launch it:

The problem now is that I can not find the directory where I installed RollerCoaster Tycoon 2.

Does anyone know what the default folder is where RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 is installed on a Mac?

    Thanks for help

    1. Disable admin rights (or whatever it’s called on a Mac). The game doesn’t need it, and in case you somehow get a malicious version of the game or connect to a malicious server, having it enabled is a great security risk.

    2. The game needs the assets from the original RCT2 (not OpenRCT2) game to run, so you need to tell the game where you have those. I don’t have a Mac, so I can’t help with Mac-specific issues. If you don’t own RCT2, you need to buy it (€10 on steam or GOG).

I do not know how “Disable admin rights” is called on a Mac. I have been on this site: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204012 but I get stuck at step 4 “Click Join (or Edit).

    And second,

I have the assets from the original RCT2 Tripple Thrill Pack, I installed it already (I installed the RCT2TTP with Wine on my Mac)

    Can anyone help me?

  12. Hello Forum,

I have installed RCT2 on my mac and now I want to install OpenRCT2. The only problem with this is that I can not find the directory where I installed RCT2. It says:

OpenRCT2 needs files from the original RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 in order to work.

Please select the directory where you installed RollerCoaster Tycoon 2.

Does anyone know where where the default directory of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 on mac is? (I have installed RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 in the default directory with Wine)

    Thanks for answer/help

  13. Hello Openrct2 Forum,

I want to install Rct2Open on my mac through CrossOver. When I launch RCT2Open, CrossOver comes with the question: Please select the directory where you installed RollerCoaster Tycoon 2.

Does anyone know what the default directory folder is to install RCT2? When I install RCT2, it doesn't shows what folder it is picking to install.

    Thanks for answering/help
